Paphos

Located on the Southwest coast of Cyprus, Pahpos is, according to legend, the birthplace of the Greek Goddess of Love, Aphrodite.

Today it is a popular sea resort with a population of 38,000 and has a wonderful year round climate with over 300 days of sunshine each year.

Kato Paphos is built around the mediaeval port with an ancient castle and many bars and restaurants.

Cyprus has something for everyone, with many interesting places to visit, including the Tomb of the Kings, Baths of Aphrodite, Castle of Paphos, The Troodos Mountains and an Amphitheatre.

Paradise Gardens is a tastefully designed, extremely convenient development, in a quiet residential area. It is only a 5 - 10 minute stroll from the sea, restaurants, bars and supermarkets. The harbour is only 15 - 20 minutes walk. There is a large swimming pool and a childrens pool for the exclusive use of Paradise Gardens' residents.

Easily accessible, the Villa is a 20 minute drive from Paphos Airport, about £15.00 Cypriot Pounds by taxi.

The Accommodation

The recently refurbished modern town house villa is set on two levels. Downstairs has an open plan lounge/dining area, fully equipped kitchen and downstairs toilet. The sofabed can be used as a double bed if required. The lounge and dining room lead onto a private patio with a large table and six chairs with views of the well maintained gardens and pools. Upstairs consists of two bedrooms, one double and one twin, each with fitted wardrobes and a large private balcony, bathroom with bath and shower.

The villa benefits from air-conditioning throughout. Facilities include TV and DVD (which will also play music cd's). Large fridge freezer, Oven/hob/grill, Microwave, Kettle, Washing Machine, Toaster, iron and ironing board. Quilts are provided for the winter months and the air conditioning units also provide heat.

Private parking is provided at the front of the property.


Places to visit

PAPHOS BIRD PARK was originally going to be for private use but it was decided to open the Park for the public, it is the only bird park in Cyprus with a fantastic collection of wildlife. The Park took 3 years to complete & it was finally open to the public in September 2003.

TOMBS OF THE KINGS is spread over a vast area, these impressive underground tombs date back to the 4th century BC. They are carved out of solid rock with some being decorated with Doric Pillars. High officials rather than Kings were buried here, but the magnificence of the tomps gave the locality its name.

PETRA TOU ROMIOU Birthplace of Aphrodite, 25km from Paphos. According to legend, Aphrodite mythological goddess of love and beauty, rose from the waves in this strikingly beautiful spot. The Baths of Aphrodite at Polis and the "Fontana Amorosa" - Fountain of Love - also echo her apparent penchant for the island. At Kouklia lie the remains of the Goddess's earliest Sanctuary. The Greek name, Petra tou Romiou " THE ROCK OF THE GREEK " is associated with the legendary frontier-guard of Byzantine times Digenis Akritas who kept the marauding Saracens at bay with amazing strength. It is said that he heaved this large rock into the sea destroying the enemy's ship.


Golf in Cyprus

Cyprus has three major golf clubs on the island providing idyllic facilities; Tsada golf club, the Secret Valley golf Club and the new and exclusive Aphrodite Hills Golf Club are all based in the Paphos area.
